We have this lamp next to our baby grand piano. It looks great and provides a soft glow. I had intended for it to not only look great, but to also illuminate the music at the piano. This lamp does not give off enough light for me, although my son doesn't complain. He has better eyes than me, I suppose!

My only problem with this lamp is that the bulbs are visable and glaring because the shade is too shallow when you are sitting close to the lamp.

This lamp was chosen as a reading lamp in a awkward corner of a room and it fits perfectly. The original shade had a defect in the glass and the customer service people was excellent when I called to replace it. A new shade was shipped within three days. The lamp looks great on or off. The weight of it is sturdy, little chance of tipping. The shade does require a gentle touch when dusting but overall, an excellent product.

Excellent lamp, but compact flourescent eco-frienly bulbs DO NOT fit. I had to make significant cuts and bends not recommended for the average consumer. With "traditional" bulbs, she's a beauty!

Very nice looking and useful in a reading area. Only drawback is that the shade is not long enough to cover the bulbs. The light bulbs will shine in someone's eyes who is sitting in a sofa of chair a few feet away.
