How does it mount? I am confused. Does it make it look like it is hard wired?

What are spider fitters?
A shopper on Aug 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If your lamp has a harp, you will need a shade with a spider fitter. The spider fitter sits on top of the harp, is secured by a finial, and is integrated in the lampshade. The spider is a cross frame located at or near the top of the shade. To identify a spider lamp shade, look down at the top of the shade. A spider lamp shade will have a circular, washer-like piece of metal right in the center. The round piece of metal will have at least three spider-like arms that are attached to both the washer and the lamp shade.

Cute, quality design, but not very bright
Lighting kit arrived very fast! I wish that I could accommodate a brighter bulb. This would be perfect over reading nook or a small area. It's not ideal for illuminating a large area.

Pros: Easy To Change Bulb, Quality Construction, Stable Design, Easy To Hang

Cons: Poor Illumination, Sways Easily
