This airtight low-voltage recessed housing is designed for direct contact with insulation.

This low voltage recessed housing with thermal protector must be used in any ceiling with insulation. The junction box creates an airtight space between the inner fixture and the insulation; for direct contact with insulation. Airtight construction prevents airflow between the attic and living areas and limits air exchange between the plenum and heated or air-conditioned areas with double wall housing construction. Unless there is access from an attic above, the size of the J-box makes insulated housings suitable only for new construction applications. Check local code requirements for vapor barrier extender, not included. A quality housing from Eurofase Lighting.
