Can be hard to install

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is designed to be installed over a junction box embedded in the wall. Any other configuration can be difficult. There is VERY little space in the box to stuff wires and without a junction box you will need to do some cramming or cutting to fit them in. The motion sensor picks up motion at a distance just fine but remains off when we leave the front door. Probably because of the top-mount position of the sensor it is poor at picking up motion within about four feet. If neither of those issues applies to you then this is a perfectly fine light.
