Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

You have to put multiple pieces of the pole together and the threads were tight. Once together the pole was crooked. This lamp is very tall so when you sit on a chair or sofa next to it you have the bulb shining in your eyes. Too bad as the design and style are good.
