Robert Sonneman Lighting Designs
Robert Sonneman lighting comes from a true pioneer, one of the modern masters responsible for turning lighting into works of art. Sonneman lamps and lighting designs are renowned for their clean lines, modern form and functionality.
Sonneman Lamps - Modern Classic Lighting
Born in New York City, Robert Sonneman began his design career by working for George Kovacs, the famed lighting retailer and early modern lamp designer. Striking out on his own in the late 1960s, Sonneman made his reputation with a series of pioneering designs in the 1970s. That work earned him numerous awards, museum shows and established him as a modern master of design.
Sonneman's body of work shows a passion for the 20th century architectural master Mies van der Rohe, as well as influences from modernist interior design and Japan. His designs range from table lamps with sleek, ultra simplicity, to sculptural pendants. We invite you to explore this wonderful collection of Sonneman lamps and lighting fixtures. It is lighting as art, reflecting the virtues of simplicity, functionalism and minimalism.
