Does the high fan speed cause the blades to wabble?
Terry K on Jul 31, 2017

Can you buy a downrod that is only 3 inches?
Terry K on Jul 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, the manufacture does not offer a 3" inch downrod for this ceiling fan. The smallest downrod is the one included with the fan. The ceiling fan though offers the dual mount feature which allows you to mount the ceiling fan as a hugger style.
Can this fan work with regular fan controls on the wall? One switch for the light and one switch to control fan speeds? Does the fan come with these controls in the box? Is the light designed to be dimmable?
A shopper on Jul 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The fan can dim and brighten and the installer should be able to set up a wall switch. The fan also comes with a remote for multiple speeds and controlling the light. Great fan overall.

Had so much potential....
I bought this fan because my wife liked the look of it in the store. Indeed this fan looks great in appearance once you finish installing it.

But that's all about it. I installed it in the indoor living room, at the center of the ceiling. My house doesn't have any vaulted ceiling. The instruction for installation was short and not detailed enough. However, if you are somewhat of a DIY type person you should be able to figure it out. We live in Texas where the heat gets pretty intense (triple digits) for a good 3-4 months of summer. So having a fan in the house is not just for show but for a real purpose, to drive air convection. And that's where this fan falls short, far short. It has variable speed control but even at its highest rotational speed it barely moves air and you may not feel any draft even when standing directly under it. I have bought other fans, for kids' rooms that are one third the price of this one and yet those can blow a storm in your room at their top speed.

Next comes light. The fan comes with provision for filament type candelabra bulbs with total wattage not to exceed 75Watt. For a living room, that can be pretty darn dim for some cases. The remote transceiver is NOT compatible for CFL type light bulbs that are so common these days. So after a year of living with such poor illumination, I bought a CFL compatible Universal remote controller from a Home improvement type store. After replacing the OEM transceiver with this generic one, I could at least put low powered but brighter CFL bulbs instead and get more light out of this system. But the low air draft still is the problem. So bottom line, this is a modern looking showpiece of a rotating device that will enhance the aesthetic appearance of your living space (that's why giving 2 Star) but if you are also interested in a fan that gives comfort of a good draft, then this is NOT your machine at all.

Pros: Attractive

Cons: Low humming noise, Very Low Air Circulation, Not Bright Enough

Love this fan!!!!!
We have installed two of these fans in our Texas home (in December 2010)and plan to replace the five remaining fans with the same model.
The fan is very attractive and works with all decors. The fan itself is so efficient that we have decreased AC use.

Pros: Circulates Air Well, Quiet, Attractive, Range of Speeds

Best Uses: Decorative, Air Circulation, Smaller Rooms, Larger Rooms

fantastic purchase
I have installed MANY ceiling fans by different manufacturers, and this is the best-built one to date. Very solidly built fan. Installed it flush to the ceiling and on high I cannot detect any significant noise from the fan.

Pros: Works in Both Directions, Circulates Air Well, Quiet, Range of Speeds

Cons: remote is kind of cheapo

Casa Endeavor...I am a big fan!
I just installed the Casa Endeavor 52 inch ceiling fan with the help of my electrician because the ceiling did not have an existing fan or power. The 14 x 14 guest bedroom is on the second floor facing west. The room initially was not usable because it was too warm. I finally decided it was time to reclaim the guest bedroom. The first thing I did was have the newest 3M window film (Prestige) installed on the windows, which eliminates 59% of the solar energy (on angle) without blocking the light. I then added Hunter Douglas black-out window shades so the window blinds could be closed during the hottest part of the day. The room was still warmer than I wanted in the afternoon and a little warm for overnight guests. The answer was the Casa Endeavor 52 inch ceiling fan. I purchased the optional wall controller to compliment the remote control. I dislike trying to find one more remote, so the optional wall controller was a selling feature. The fan looks better installed than it does in the picture. This is due to the 52 inch presence of wood blades matched with brushed nickel. The fan provides a modern presence of natural materials that will be sure to garnish compliments. The 52 inch blades provide quiet air movement on low. The medium and high speeds work quietly and efficiently. The 3 incandescent(40 W) bulbs provide ample light without the heat of halogen which was another selling feature for this fan, in this application. This is a great fan and I would recommend the purchase. If you think you will need a downrod longer than the 6 inch downrod provided, buy it at the time of purchase. These rods are not a standard diameter. [...] I did not start the project until I had the 24 inch optional downrod and optional wall controller. That way, I had everything I needed. The installation went smoothly. I read some comments that people felt the fan was somewhat difficult to install. This was not the case in my installation. How do you decide the size of the downrod? Based on my research, I wanted to hang the fan 9 feet above the floor and have 22 inches of clearance from the walls. Be sure to ask the people working in the fan department as they are extremely helpful. Most optional down rods come in 12 inch, 18 inch, 24 inch and 36 inch lengths. I had a good experience and after we wired for electical power in the ceiling, the installation took about 2-3 hours. Dr. J.

Pros: Circulates Air Well, Non-halogen bulbs, Optional wall conrtoller, Quiet, Easy installation, Range of Speeds, Works in Both Directions

Best Uses: Decorative, Bedroom, Larger Rooms, Alternative to AC, Air Circulation

Installation is key
As with others, when I first installed this fan I found it wobbled when set on high. The issue I think is that the canopy and mounting bracket are sized comparatively small, so if mounted against plain old ceiling drywall it doesn't provide the stability to prevent the wobble. And in my case, the deteriorated drywall around the hole didn't give the bracket much surface to butt up against.
Here's what I did. I took it all down (drat!). I went to the hardware store and bought an open recessed light trim ring ($8) and a pair of 2.25-inch 8/32 screws to replace the mounting bracket screws that came with the fan.
I put the ring over the drywall hole and then installed the bracket on top of that, using the longer screws to reach the junction box screw holes. The ring served as a gasket to shore up the drywall.
Then I re-installed the fan and turned it on - viola! no wobble. It's rock solid even on high.
This worked for me; it might work for others.
Others have complained the light is dim, and there is a fix there, too. Buy LED 60-watt replacement candelabra bulbs. Mine pull 9 watts, and as long as you don't exceed 60 watts per bulb it is safe to do so. They provide far better light output.

Pros: Circulates Air Well, Quiet, Works in Both Directions, Range of Speeds, Attractive

Cons: Difficult to Install

Great Fan - Looks great and gives ample
We really like this ceiling fan. It has a nice modern look without being too contemporary. We only had two minor issues: one was during installation; there was a little clip that needed to be removed to allow enough room to push the fan high enough onto the bracket. The directions did not mention the clip at all. The other issue is that the remote does not always work from across the room, sometimes when standing approximately 16 feet away, the fan light will not respond to the remote.

You can hook the fan on the bracket while connecting the wires, this made installation easier and possible for one person to complete.

Pros: Circulates Air Well, Works in Both Directions, Range of Speeds, Quiet

Cons: Difficult to Install

Best Uses: Decorative, Larger Rooms, Air Circulation

"Very Good", but not perfect.
Positive: Moves the air well even at low speed; Good looking; Can change fan directions (summer/winter) from remote; Remote avoids the need for a wall switch or reaching up for a cord; We have a vaulted ceiling that traps air, wish we had this years ago.

Negative: We can hear a slight electric throb-hum at low speed...however, my wife and I both have excellent hearing. Remote seems cheap and very basic when compared to after-market remotes; but it does the job. Wobbles at middle and high speed (stable at low). Owners manual contradicts itself when to reverse fan direction. One part stipulates that the fan must be completely stopped before engaging reverse/change directions, then another section mandates that the fan MUST be in motion before engaging reverse/change directions! I called the store twice and got two different answers. The correct answer is the fan MUST be in motion and 'on' when you change directions. I recommend you do this when the fan is in 'low'.

Summary: Very good fan. When on sale, it is priced fair. We are going to purchase another 52" Casa Endeavor for the Master Bedroom due to another vaulted ceiling.

Pros: Look's nice, Range of Speeds, Works in Both Directions, Circulates Air Well

Cons: Slight - Electric Hum, Wobble - Mid and High spd, Remote seems cheap

Best Uses: Larger Rooms, Alternative to AC, Air Circulation

good little fan
Two of us had a very difficult time installing this fan, but it was more my ceiling's fault, not the fan. The directions were frustrating. It doesn't tell you to remove all screws and rods if installing hugger style. It took us a long time to figure out something was blocking the install. A lot of the screws are in place already and not in baggies, so we spent time looking for screws that were already in place. It's quiet and circulates the air well. I wish the reverse was not on the remote where you could easily press when the fan is on.

Pros: Quiet, Range of Speeds, Works in Both Directions, Remote, Good air circulation

Cons: Reverse on remote, Directions hard to follow

sleek design
Casa Vieja fan looks great, contemporary looking, used at more than 12 hours a day, however after a year and a half of use,
the quietness of this fan changed to noisy clicking sounds. Called customer service, I was told to call the store, when i called the store, they want me to bring the fan since it's out of the warranty period. I haven't use the fan for over 6 months now. It was worth the first 1 1/2 years but not after that.

Pros: Attractive, Contemporary

Cons: Clicking sound

Pros: Range of Speeds, I Love The Light, Attractive, Quiet, Easy to install, Works in Both Directions, Circulates Air Well
