BEST ANSWER: Consider the scale of the console or chest as well as the artwork, ceiling height, etc. when selecting entry lamps. The height of your credenza or console table will affect the height best height for the lamp. Typically, this lamp should be around 33-36 inches in height but it can be higher depending upon the space. If you have a mirror or piece of artwork hung above the credenza, then you would want the top of your lamps to be centered on the frame or higher.
