The bottom is tapered, is it wide enough to accommodate a 5" wide bulb?

BEST ANSWER: This wall light is recommended to be used with an A19 bulb which generally measures approximately 4.25" wide. I do not see why not.
Is there a model that matches Style 35153, without the motion detector? I have a duplex with twin lights on the front porch and only need one to have that feature.

Can the motion sensor be deactivated?
A shopper on Sep 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You can temporary disable the motion sensor using the Manual Override Mode (flip the wall switch off and back on within 3 seconds). Using this mode, the light will stay on for approximately 8 hours or until the dusk-to-dawn sensor detects light in the morning.

Don W on Aug 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes although we have never used this feature
If i put this on my front porch, which has an overhang, will it stay on all day because it senses dusk??
David M on Jul 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I do not believe that it will sense shade of an overhang as dusk. Mine do not trip on until the light level is much lower than what would be available from the overhang. Having said that, it might be possible that they would sense a darkened sky from heavy clouds as low enough of light level to trip. But then maybe you would want them to come on under those circumstances.
do you carry light fixture that can just be plug into an outside outlet?
A shopper on Jun 16, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This wall light is only designed as a direct wire fixture. Please contact one of our knowledgeable Lighting and Home Décor Specialists who will be more than happy to assist you in finding other outdoor wall light alternatives to meet your specific lighting needs (possibly solar). They can be reached by phone, email, or chat:
I prefer to use a non-dimmable LED bulb. Will that work with this light, giving full brightness when motion is detected, but turn off completely when no motion is detected?
Robert W on Jun 6, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It is recommended to only use dimmable LED bulbs with this wall light. If not, use a regular incandescent bulb.

what is diameter of base ?
john y on Apr 23, 2020

Can it be set to be always on? Meaning no dusk to Dawn and no mention sensor, just on. want to control it with a light switch
John S on Jan 18, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This outdoor wall light features a Manual Mode using your indoor on/off switch. You can temporarily disable the motion sensor using the Manual Override Mode. Using this mode, the light will stay on for approximately 8 hours or until the dusk-to-dawn sensor detects light in the morning. Once the dusk-to-dawn sensor detects light for more than 60 seconds, the Manual Override Mode will automatically revert back to the Auto Motion Sensing Mode.

Does the light revert back to the AUTO mode each morning, after having been set for dusk-to-dawn the prior day? I have noticed that all the outdoor lights with the Dual Brite feature, have this annoying feature that the setting for dusk-to-dawn only works for one day at a time.
Rebecca C on Nov 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The wall lights will have continuous function. If you have issues with your previous lights from us, contact our customer service team.
I currently have 3 non-motion sensor outdoor lights on the same switch (one light is at the front door and 2 are on the garage). I would like to replace the front door light with this unit. Would I need to install a new switch for it? Or can it stay on the same switch, but still work when the switch is in its usual "off" position (we only turn on the garage lights occasionally)? Thanks!
A shopper on Sep 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You should be okay with the same switch. The motion controls are on the unit itself.
how do you change the bulb on this model?
A shopper on Sep 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Reach your hand through the opening from the bottom. It’s pretty simple, no worries 😉. It’s a beautiful motion lamp as well ✅
Can the sensor be adjusted and how to change from 1 to 2 or minutes?
A shopper on Aug 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I am out of town right now, so I cannot look at it, but I recall there is a switch at the bottom of the faceplate wit about 3 selections. "0", which means it only goes on or off when you turn it on or off, or "5" it comes on from dusk to dawn 5 minutes or "10" it comes on for 10 minutes when it detects motion from dusk to dawn. There also is a sensitivity setting which might be inside the faceplate to adjust how sensitive it is to light. The default is about right, but if it is in a shady or sunny spot, you might want to adjust it. After 5 or 10 minutes if there is no motion if goes off. These are great for the back of the house where you don't want them on except when there is motion. There are light switches that will leave it on from dusk to a set time, say 10 pm, every day and adjustable for every day of the year, time zone, and daylight savings time. .
I'm looking ONLY for dusk to dawn. I WANT the light to stay on all night for security reasons when I'm away. Can the motion part be turned off?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This motion sensors DualBrite feature can be set for dusk-to-dawn and stay on all night, but the motion sensor cannot be turned off separately.
I am trying to decide between style 14G80 and sytle 351253 and syle 35629
I will need 2 outdoor lights for my backyard. they will be on the left and right side of a second floor deck that was there before.
I am most interested in security.
I want to use the motion sensing format.
Any input?
A shopper on Jul 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I use this lamp on the dusk to dawn setting. If the lamp is going to be placed on a second floor area, it stands to reason that the motion sensor will only go off if the object is already on the second floor. This lamp is bright over a wide area in either setting. I have mine near a side door that I enter when it is dark in order to illuminate the locking mechanism.
Is this light UL rated?
A shopper on Jun 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This motion sensor wall light is UL listed.
Does Antique Copper 13 1/2" Dusk to Dawn Motion Sensor Wall Light Style # 35153 accept an LED light?
JAMES A on Jun 4, 2019
Yes, the lights work fine with an LED light. I have three of these lights and have been using LED bulbs for almost a year without any problems.
Is the bottom sealed so that bugs cannot fly up into the fixture, build nests, etc?
A shopper on Jun 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It's open on the bottom, you can reach your hand up in it. I've had no problem with bugs or nest, and mine has been in use for about a year. I have it set for dusk to dawn. It stays on when dark in dim mode and the motion detector makes it bright when someone approaches it. I use a standard incandescent light bulb that is a yellow bug light. If you use a new style bulb "LED or Florescent" you will need to check to see if it capable of dimming.

The light fixture junction box for this light would be 12' above the ground. Will it pick up on motion on the ground underneath the light? What is the ideal mounting height?
Preston T on May 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: For most outdoor motion sensor lights, the optimum mounting height is between 6 and 10 feet for maximum detection distance. If you go much higher, you will start to lose some of that distance.
Are the sensor controls easily reached when the light is mounted?
Cynthia L on Apr 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They sure are! If you are of average height you can reach them with no trouble, if you are short like me, all you need is a step stool. Hope this helps!
Owners, can this be adjusted to less than 30 feet? Thirty feet would be too close to the traffic and would set off the light constantly. Can this be used strictly as a motion sensor light and not constantly on at night? Thanks!
Cynthia L on Apr 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You may adjust the sensitivity to increase or decrease the range as needed (Page 7, Step 1 of instructions). The Dusk to Dawn feature can also be set to "off". I have added a line below to the manufacturers instructions for more details.

Excellent quality and style
Excellent purchase - these lamps have all the features anyone would want. The low lighting is dusk to dawn, the higher lighting kicks in via motion sensor. You can also set how long the motion-activated lighting stays on (1, 5 or 10 mins) before it reverts back to low lighting. It takes up to 100W but that's a bit too bright so I use standard 60W. Pros: Weather Resistant, Attractive Design, Area Of Illumination, Easy To Change Bulb

Cons: NONE

Bright Choice
I installed this lamp at our front entryway and couldn't have made a better choice. The best feature, other than the motion sensor, is the dual illumination. A 75 watt incandescent bulb was installed. At dusk when the low level lighting comes on, I'm guessing it would be at approximately 1/3 illumination or 25 watts. When the motion sensor is activated, the full 75 watts comes on for the time desired. After that time has expired - ours is set for 5 minutes - the light reverts to the lower level again. The dual lighting provides a nice accent to the entryway, it's never totally dark and at dawn, it turns itself off.

Easy to understand directions and was easy to install. Fixture is attractive and the bottom is open for easy bulb installation and cleaning. I would not use a fluorescent bulb unless it's specified for dual lighting operation.

Pros: Weather Resistant, Area Of Illumination, Easy To Change Bulb, Attractive Design

Cons: NONE

Best Uses: Detached garage, Walkway, Entryway

looks good, works great
installation was easy -- though I haven't tried the more complicated installation yet in which multiple lights are hooked together to trigger one another. I think the product is nice for accenting the home while also providing an added level of security.

Pros: Area Of Illumination, Attractive Design, Easy To Change Bulb

Best Uses: Back Yard, Walkway, Porch, Front Yard, Security

Best Deal Ever!!!
We LOVE this light. Be sure to not use a florescent bulb in it! If you do, the Dusk to Dawn part does not work right. If you use a regular light bulb or a halogen bulb you will have DD with the motion and it will work beautifully! This was a great buy. Nice to have the extra security.

Pros: Area of Illumination, Artistic Design

Dusk to Dawn Wall Light
Motion Sensors work perfectly, dim lit for 6 hours starting at first sign of darkness. Motion sensor then lights up brighter when sensing motion, and stays on brighter for 15 minutes, then returns to dim light again. After 6 hours of being on, it goes off, just in time for daylight. Great light!

Looks good, LEDs not compatible
The good: These lights look great on my house, and the dusk to dawn feature works as advertised.

The not so good: The motion detector doesn’t play well with LEDs. I have 40 watt dimmable LEDs in mine, and when the motion detector is triggered, they brighten up a little, but I get the flickering effect. Looks like a strobe like almost, very annoying. Buyer beware, don’t use LED bulbs!!

Classic Understated Elegant look
The features of this wall unit are without a doubt the best in the business if your taste calls for classic colonial or Cape Cod elegance. The sensor is very efficient and provides just the right amount of lighting, depending on your choice of voltage from the bulb. Great product!
