what is the base of the lamp made out of?
BEST ANSWER: Hi - this design is made from a cast hydrocal material. Hydrocal is a type of white gypsum cement. The material is ideal for both solid and hollow casting of lamp bases, figurines, and decorative moldings.

Is the total height of the lamp including the height of the shade 26"?
BEST ANSWER: You are absolutely correct. The total height of this lamp from the bottom of the base to the very top of the shade is 26" high in all.

Love this lamp.
This looks great on a console table. It looks very good on more rustic or farmhouse style. Good with black iron accessories, mirrors, unframed art.
