Does the bulb screw in from the top and stand vertical or does the bulb go in and stand horizontal?
Chris B on Jun 24, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It goes in from the top, vertically. There are two bulbs in this lamp, one on top and a small bulb in the bottom stain glass base. It is vertical but upside down in the base.

I have darker furniture. Seems in picture, even though it says it's walnut, that this color is more oak in color. Is it light or darker?
Michelle D on Oct 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: First let me say that I love these lamps and have received many compliments. I have darker mission style tables and the lamp bases are more of a lighter oak, definitely not a dark walnut color. However, that being said, while they are not in the same color category as my darker furniture, they complement each other beautifully with the lighter oak on the darker oak. I hope this helps in your decision.
Can you use a 75 watt bulb in this lamp?
Carol G on Feb 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Good question. It didn’t matter to us because we use LED bulbs, and you can run 100-watt equivalent LED bulbs with ease.
The issue, of course, is heat. I don’t want to speculate (and haven’t looked at the specs on the lamp), but LED bulbs are so cheap now ($1/bulb at Costco, etc) I would go to LED bulbs and never look back (which we did). Heat is not an issue with LED bulbs - the circuitry gets warm, but not hot (and certainly not like an incandescent bulb).
Buy a 75-watt equivalent LED bulb - that will work just fine, save you $$& in electricity, and they have a 10- or 20-year lifespan.

What color is the glass?
Diana G on Nov 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The glass is varying hues of red, browns, and cream.
Where is the on off switch?
SpaddriverDavis on Sep 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The switch is in the base of the lamp where you install the regular bulb. It is a 4 way switch, turn on the normal bulb only, turn on the night light, or turn on both lights, or turn all lights off. I have two of these lamps on small tables sitting in front of windows in my living room and just love the way that they look. I leave them both in the night light setting all the time
How tall and wide is this lamp?
A shopper on Aug 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The overall height of the lamp (top of finial to bottom) is 30 inches. The overall width (widest part is the shade) is 16 inches across.
Can a 3 way socket be installed to replace the existing socket?
A shopper on Jul 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure, the existing switch first turn on the nightlight in the base, the second click turn on only the lamp bulb, the third click turns on both night light and lamp bulb. I would guess you'd need to add a second switch on the base just for the nightlight and use a 3-way just for the bulb.

I bought this lamp on clearance. [...] I agree that it is far prettier than the illustration shows -- the glass colors are much richer. I am now going to pay full price for a mate to it. The only thing that could improve it would be to have a separate switch for the night light and leave the three-way switch free for a three-way bulb.

Classic Arts & Crafts/Mission
For the price, this is a well made, beautiful lamp. The stained glass panels are not real glass, but some sort of plastic/resin. But, you'll never know it isn't real glass unless you "tap" on it. Shades of "glass" panels are saturated tones in color, but not garish. The purple is very muted. Overall, a nice recreation of the Mission design. Access to night light is clever hinged glass panel which opens completely like a door. "Leather look shade" is not exactly that, but attractive in it's color and textured appearance. The weight is adequate but not that of a more expensive fixture. Consider the price. It's worth the money.

Pros: Convenient On/Off, Easy To Change Bulb, Area Of Illumination, Easy To Clean, Long Cord, Artistic Design

Best Uses: Reading, Decoration, Bedside, Dark Corners

Response from Lamps Plus
Note on this review: the panels in the base are glass, not plastic. The hollow sound when tapped is a result of the copper foil soldering technique, but the panels are made of glass.

Perfect Balance
I have several pieces in Arts and Crafts, California Bungalow. Most of the lamps are tiffany or use stained glass designs. It can be a little too much if over done. This one works perfect in the bedroom since the nightlight function can be left on. The other thing that is nice is that the switch operates both the main fixture and the night light so there is no break in the base design by an additional switch.

Pros: Good Size, Area of Illumination, Well Built, Artistic Design, Balance In Form And Desig, Easy to Clean

Cons: NONE

Best Uses: Bedside, Decoration

Great versatile family room lamp
The wood is very nice on the base of the lamp and the cut stain glass is very beautiful. I like the leather shade. I have not seen any lamps with a shade like this and it fits in our family room with our leather furniture.

Kids love the Night Light!
This is such a practical lamp. It fits in with our "somewhat Mission" and ranch decor. The feature that I love most is the night light; we use it to illuminate a common area outside the bedrooms and it's been perfect. It's so convenient as well as practical and stylish. I can't think of a single con ... the quality is quite good for the value - in fact, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality.

Beautiful Lamp
This lamp is beautiful - the pictures online do NOT do it justice. It has a presence and a substance the minute you take it out of the box. I waited awhile to get it on sale and have found myself staring at it all night. The nightlite is a super useful and beautiful feature - it really shows off the glass work. The faux leather shades are actually impressive and lend an aire of elegance. The wood is a wonderful color as well.

I love this lamp!
I was really glad this was as pretty as it looked online! I use the light-up base all the time so that the glass is illuminated, rather than just as a nightlight function. My only complaint is that the base is a bit loose where it connects to the glass and swivels when I clean it. But it stands straight and seems sturdy otherwise, I've had it for a couple of years now and still love it.
