BEST ANSWER: This table lamp does not include a 3-way socket. This includes an on/off socket switch. But, try adding a table top dimmer to provide that versatility you may be looking for.

Does the wire run down through the middle of the glass base and out a drilled hole in the bottom or does the wire run down outside the glass base?

BEST ANSWER: The wire runs down thru the middle of the inside of the glass base and out the center/back/bottom. You can’t really see the wire that runs thru the base.

Nice lamps, but need small fix.
I would have given these lamps a higher rating, but they arrived and the lamp unit was not affixed to the base. I contacted Customer Service. Upon researching, the agent noted this had occurred with other orders. I was given the option of returning the set or gluing them with contact cement in my own. I chose to keep them and glued them. It was done in a matter of minutes and both lamps are very solid. The agent was very nice and helpful, and the simple fix was much easier than packing up and returning the lamps. Overall good experience and I’ll order from Lamps Plus again.

Extremely beautiful.
