These appear to be bases that I can make stained glass lampshades for. We can use the shades that come with the lamps to replace dilapidated ones on our other bases.

Some lamps these days have the lamp shades resting on the lightbulb itself, rather than on a separate structure. Are these shades supported by a metal structure that goes around the lightbulb and to the base, or do the lamp shades rest on the lightbulb itself?

Beautiful Lamps
I love the lamps, they look beautiful in my living room set. The look and design is perfect.

I only have one gripe and it is how the unit's wiring goes through the lamp. When you receive the lamps, the socket is not attached to the base of the lamp. You need to screw the socket in, which is not an issue. However, there is little room for the cord to twist within the base of the lamp as you screw it in. As you tighten the socket to the base the cord gets coiled and, unless you get it extremely tight, it ends up loosening itself back up.

Pros: Area of Illumination, Good Size, Artistic Design, Easy to Clean

Wrong Description
These lamps are a definite BLACK, not even close to bronze color. I would not have ordered them but for the false description!
I'm keeping them rather than hassle with repackaging & return. There is an integrity issue here with their web site, won't use Lamps Plus on-line again. Buyer beware.
