Trying to replace a shade my parent bought at least 45 to 50 years ago. The lamp itself is quite beautiful and is so sturdy. A replacement for the lamp would be in the 250 to 400 dollar range. Finding a shade so similar to the original is lovely!!

BEST ANSWER: A spider shade has a harp that attaches to the lamp base, and the spider fitting sits on top of the harp and is often secured with a finial that screws onto the top of the harp. Lamps often come with the correct harp included.

Buyer Beware!!
Tried customer service; happy to give me merchandise return number--but it costs too much to return so I'm stuck with 2 lamp shades I cannot use because they are too big for the lamps I have. The return info says only that prepaid returns cannot be used if bought from Amazon. Misleading....
