We think it will look perfect in our dining area

Is this light to big for a table that is 40 inches wide by 80 inches long. The ceiling is 8 feet but the room is opened up to include the foyer and family room. Just wondering if the shade may take up the room?
Thank you
Kathy T on Sep 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The rule of thumb is to select a fixture that is a 1/2 to 2/3 the width of your table. This fixture will be a great size for the width of your table. Anything from 20-28 inches in width would be great.
Can this light be used over a dining table and. Give enough light ?
Kathy T on Aug 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the fixture takes three maximum 100 watt bulbs. We recommend selecting a fixture that is 1/2 to 2/3 the width of your table.
