Which direction is the bulb supposed to point? Up or down? The photos show the light both ways...I need the bulb to point upwards but wanted to confirm then that the bulb would be protected and that there is glass on both the top and bottom sides?

I saw that someone mounted the base with the flange towards the wall, which is what I had to do because of the exterior walls of my home being stucco, it never would have been flush otherwise. Any problem with doing it this way?

BEST ANSWER: Remove the outer glass shield to gain access to the inner glass shield by removing the thumb screw on the bottom of the outer glass shield. The inner glass shield simply lifts out of the wall plate to gain access to the bulb. Replace glass shields in reverse order. Very easily done.
Hello, I have a Panasonic Warm White FUL 12WW Outdoor Light Bulb that is bad. The Light Bulb is special, it's U shaped about 5" long and the Top is Square sharped with 4 Pin Connectors that plug into the Light Fixture. I am thinking this was made by Panasonic back in the 1984 time frame. If you don't happen to have this Bulb. Is there an Adaptor that I can purchase to be able to keep the light fixture but, use an adaptor with a regular screw on light bulb? Thanks Pat K

Attractive, well built lighting.
This light is attractive and sturdily built. I wired two of them to my low voltage landscape system using a 12v lamp. It looks so good that I am going to replace my 120v outdoor sconces with these.

Simple and clean lines
Used with an Edison bulb, dusk to dawn, and works perfect! I like that is it simple with clean lines. The color is a dark brown/bronze and matches are garage door perfectly. We will add another on the opposite side.

Very modern looking
We bought 2 of these when we were repainting our home. They look fantastic. I bought the Edison bulbs and that adds a unique touch. I do not know how to change the bulb yet, but they are supposed to last a long time. Great looking lights that light up the area really well. Would buy again if I were adding lights somewhere.
