What is the hang height for a 20 ft ceiling?
Sheryl R on Jan 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It depends if you are hanging it in the center of a foyer or over a table. In most rooms, chandeliers should hang so the bottom sits about 7 feet above the floor, but this rule doesn't always apply in the foyer. While you should never go lower than 7 feet from the ground, you should sometimes hang it higher. For instance, in a two-story foyer, the bottom of the fixture should hang at the level of the second floor. In one-story foyers with ceilings higher than 12 feet, you should leave at least 7 feet 6 inches from the bottom of the chandelier to the floor. Remember too that a foyer chandelier should hang in the center of the room.

If you plan on hanging it over a table, the overall hang height recommended is approximately 12 feet which takes into account the height of the table.
I have a 20 ft ceiling and want to hang over a 60 inch round table. How low can this fixture be suspended?
Sheryl R on Jan 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Cheryl! The recommended overall hang height over a 60 inch round table with a 20 foot ceiling would be about 12 feet. That would leave you 66 inches above the table which takes into consideration the overall size of the room. In rooms with shorter ceilings you typically hang the fixture 30-36 inches above the table but the higher the ceiling, the further above the table people tend to hang the chandelier. That being said, if you prefer the look of a chandelier closer to the table, that is perfectly acceptable!
Hi I have a 10 foot ceiling and would like to hang this chandelier over a 60 foot round dining room table. the room size is 11 x 11 feet. Will this chandelier work?
Phyllis G on Oct 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the chandelier will be perfect.
I have 9 foot ceilings and thinking about hanging it over a round 60 inch dining room table. The room size is 11 feet x 11 feet. Will this chaldelier work with the 9 lights (too big?) or should I consider the 5 light same chandelier
Phyllis G on Sep 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The rule of thumb for selecting a chandelier over a dining room table is to choose a fixture that is 1/2 to 2/3 the width of the table. Therefore, this fixture at 29" wide would look perfect. You could even go wider if you like a larger look. As for the height, the rule of thumb is to hang your chandelier 30-36 inches from the table top. The ideal hang height for a 9 foot ceiling is 45" from the ceiling to the bottom of the fixture. Since this chandelier measures 37.5" in height , it will fit within those parameters. Hope this helps!
