BEST ANSWER: A xenon bulb is recommended for this sconce.

Warning: These are VERY dim
I wanted to like these however these have a critical flaw not noted in the product details: the frosted glass shade is *also* back-painted white, which cuts down on the light output hugely. They are like night-lights. Almost useless amount of light.

Matching light panel.
These were very nice. They problem was when wanted the light panel to match.
