BEST ANSWER: Per the manufacturer, this is only designed to be mounted as shown.
Do the screws on the sides attach to the wall or do they attach to a panel?

BEST ANSWER: The screws attach to the back panel of the light not the wall. Hope this helps!
does this sconce come in a smaller version? I just was at a business meeting and saw the entire hallway had this, but the sconce was probably only about 9-10 " in height. I took a photo of it.
