Glasgow Olde Bronze 8 1/2" Wide 1-Light LED Mini Pendant

This is a really stunning pendant. What sold us was that it comes with a series of down rods that hide the wires. That is very important to us - we hate seeing wires and cords. The color is exactly as depicted online - a nice, warm chocolate brown. The light looks and feels substantial, but is not overly heavy (hang weight under 3 pounds), and has a nice "sandpapery" textured finish to it. The 1890 style Edison bulb is a beautiful bulb in and of itself and it looks fantastic in this fixture. From box open to install was less than 30 minutes. We hung 3 over our kitchen countertop. The lighting will mainly be used for gentle illumination (we wired them to a dimmer) rather than task, as the Edison bulbs only get so bright and they look amazing when they're not fully illuminated. The pendant would work with many design styles from modern to traditional to craftsman to vintage.

I had three typical glass pendants over my large kitchen island. Out of the blue, one fell and smashed into a million glass shards on my counter top! Luckily it was at night, and although it scared me half to death, no one was injured. I spent the next day cleaning up the glass which went everywhere, what a dangerous mess! I never wanted that to happen again, so I was looking for fixtures without glass. Loved these when I saw them and I knew they would look great. I get so many compliments from friends and family, as they are a bit of a style departure, but I love the unexpected and I love that I no longer have to worry about anyone getting hurt from flying glass!
