Where the finial would be is actually the bird's head, so it seems to be peeking above the black satin shade. The bird clasps a clear ball in its hand and stands on a clear base. Truly a distinctive piece.

I have 2 of these lamps and love them!
These lamps are so perfect in any decor! Would there be any way to get just the head? My husband accidentally knocked one of mine off the table and broke the head. If there is a place to contact, please let me know!
