We own a historic row house built in 1905. The straight edges and elliptical shades (the disappearing curve) hark back to 1905, a transitional period that bridges Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. We also like the simplicity of design and warm finish to the metal. It harmonizes yet contrasts with the actual grass wallpaper that runs floor-to-ceiling in the center hall for the full length of the house and up the staircase.
