BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is damp location rated for bathrooms.
Is the on/off switch on the backplate?
This is hardwired,correct?

BEST ANSWER: No, this does not feature a switch on the light. This is a hardwired design that requires electrical installation which is controlled by a wall switch.

Not thrilled
The write up says gold, the photo looks yellow, gold or brass. What I got was more an antique brass, heavily antiqued, more brown and green. The circular mounting plate would not fit on a rectangular wall box - none of the holes would align on the mounting screw holes. I had to replace the plate.

It seems well constructed, and I like the form. But not the color.
