I REALLY like these lamps. If you like modern style, this lamp is an exceptional example. The gold leaf finish is very elegant and well executed and makes the lamp look like it should cost a lot more than it does; I didn't find anything I liked nearly as well for less than $1,000. The black shade lends an extremely dramatic touch also. We use these as bedside lamps, and they work well on large nightstands next to a king size bed. It might have been nice if it took a 3-way bulb (it doesn't), but we're splitting hairs.
This lamp presents like the more expensive designer lamps I have been eyeing at a local high-end furniture showroom and it does it at a third of the price. I originally purchased two of these lamps for my bedside tables. While larger than I had envisioned, the lamps create an elegant drama in my bedroom and the black shades lined in gold on the inside really read expensive....and it comes with a lightbulb for each lamp if you order from Lamps Plus.
I love these lamps- I bought two. But one arrived with a bent switch and now I have to go through a huge hassle returning it... If it were not for the broken switch, the actual lamps are gorgeous.
