What is the difference between these two lights? Kirkham Bronze 11" High Dark Sky LED Outdoor Post Light - Style # 2N465 and cheaper Style # 48700
Mary A on Jun 10, 2020
BEST ANSWER: One post light is LED, the other is not.
Is there a globe over the bulb?
Dan T on May 30, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I used a flood light with the flat bottom so it doesn’t stick below the bottom of the fixture and isn’t invisible. When you have a regular globe bulb in there it’s sticks below the bottom of the fixture and is visible, but it does give off more light with the globe bulb. I hope that helps
I would like to add this style to my low voltage - wired landscape lighting. Do you have a low voltage version for wired service?

How is it wired?
Randy B on Jan 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This post mount light operates off of 110-120V AC. If you are unfamiliar with installing a light such as this, we recommend consulting with a certified electrician for further details on electrical codes and installation requirements for your specific project.
Is this light suitable for the Northern Pacific Coast harsh environment?
Paul R on Dec 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi - this outdoor light is wet location rated and very durable for outside usage, but the finish is not meant for coastal areas. For resistance to salt-air in coastal environments, you should select a fixture with a "Marine Grade" finish. We have an array of great choices including Vivex, Coastal Armor and more. I have added some helpful links below for some great options which are currently offered.

Is their a larger size in this collection for a post light?
A shopper on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I am sorry, there are no other size options available in this collection.
Which post goes with this this lamp?
Ann Marie G on Jul 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The manufacturer does not make a post in the Aspen Bronze finish. They recommend the Heritage finish direct burial post or post with base. It is a slightly darker bronze. Or, you can select one of our bronze finishes as well. If you plan on installing this post directly into grass or into the ground you will need a direct burial post. If you plan on installing on concrete or another hard surface, you will need a post with base. Below you will find some options from our selection.

You can also special order the Minka Lavery posts through us by calling 1-800-782-1967. Any of our lighting specialists will be happy to assist. I have included the Style numbers for the Minka Lavery direct burial post in the Heritage Bronze and the Minka Lavery post with base in the Heritage Bronze.

Perfect for our needs
We used these lamps for soft lighting in a backyard patio area - replacing a blinding flood light. We used the companion wall-mount lamp by the back door and the post-mount lamps at intervals along the patio. We cut the 84" accessory posts in half, then anchored them in cement 18" into the ground to achieve more of a path lighting effect. The 60 watt capacity bulbs, with the light downwardly directed is easy on the eyes and provides better pathway/area lighting than the typical lower watt pathway lights. (Of course better illumination of the entire area would be achieved with higher post mounting.)
It is so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the evening with friends in the soft light.

Pros: Area Of Illumination, Easy To Change Bulb, Attractive Design, Weather Resistant

These lights (I now have 5 including two wall mount) are great quality, easy to install, attractively plain (especially when lit) and do just what they are supposed to do - direct the light down without "polluting" the night sky.

Pros: Weather Resistant, Area Of Illumination, Easy installation, Easy To Change Bulb, Quality product, Attractive Design

Best Uses: Front Yard, Walkway, Gardens, Back Yard, Pool/Pond Area

Exactly what I wanted....
I set two of these lights on the 84" posts set into the ground so that 56" were above grade. At that height, the lights perfectly illuminate my patio, flower bed and surrounding area, WITHOUT shedding light into our eyes. With 60 watt bulbs, they give very nice lighting and are still not too harsh. Of course, lower wattage can be used for more of a mood setting. Extremely pleased with the ease of installation and apparent quality.

Pros: Attractive Design, Area Of Illumination, Easy To Change Bulb, Weather Resistant

Best Uses: Walkway, Pool/Pond Area, Porch, Front Yard, Gardens, Back Yard

Clean LInes
I installed matching post light and house lights. the style is simple and coordinates nicely with my 60s ranch.
I liked the idea that it is night sky friendly.
The lamps were very affordable yet still had style; much better than the inexpensive builder grade for just a little more.
I found it very bright with a normal incandescent bulb so I found a round bulb that didn't protrude as far below the shade of the lamp for a cleaner look.

Pros: Easy To Change Bulb, Very Bright, Weather Resistant, Attractive Design, Area Of Illumination

Best Uses: Walkway, Front Yard
