Medium Base LED Light Bulb Choices

The medium base light bulb, also known as Standard base or Edison base, is the most commonly used household bulb. This is the type of bulb base that fits into most lamps and hanging lights. That said, there are a wide range of choices available, and a great range of LED style bulbs to choose from. For installations where the LED light bulb is going to be visible and not shielded by a shade or diffuser, look for a frosted design that helps reduce glare. And while the base may be the same, the bulb shape can be different, from short to standard size, so be sure to pick one that will fit your particular application. Finally, remember to pick LED bulbs based on how much light, or lumens, that they output, not on how many watts they may use. An LED may only use 10 watts of energy because it is so energy efficient, but it can have the same light output as a 60 or 75 watt regular bulb.
