What is the weight of the base? It will be sitting on plush carpet and I want to know theres enough weight to keep it in place.

Did not stand straight
Frustrating to assemble, perhaps because the pole that attached to the base had a bolt that was crooked and was painted which prevented correcting it. Until that was discovered, I spent way too much time trying to assemble and reassemble so that the pole was straight and the base was level on the floor. Then getting it all back in the box to return was fun. I will take pictures before unpacking the next lamp I get so I can repack more easily next time. Waiting on an exchange.

Works Very Well
This lamp assembled with ease and appears to be well built. The lamps stay adjusted and being able to individually control them is a very nice feature. And because it takers a regular medium base bulb ,the options for wattage and light color are numerous and inexpensive, as well as being readily available. Very happy and satisfied with this purchase.
