Are all control switches on the floor?

the top takes a max of 150 watts and the two side lamps take a max of 60 watts each, for a total max. wattage of 270 watts - correct?
Bill G on Oct 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You are correct, if you have all three lights on.
Can you turn the side lamps off while the top torchiere is still on? Also, is the on/off switch located on the lamp or on the wire?
A shopper on May 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there's a push switch that controls the side lamps separate from the on/off dimmer switch controlling the torchiere. There is a control module about 2"x4" that houses the all lamp switches. The only issue is that the leader wire is only about 24" from the base to this module. If you have a side or end table next to the lamp it's just enough length to position the module on the table otherwise you have to leave the control module on the floor next to lamp or strap it to the lamp's vertical rod/posts.
Can the lamp be assembled without the small side lamps?
Deborah R on Nov 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately no, the lamp comes with the quantity (2) side lamp "fixtures" attached. All one does is insert the small, glass lamp shades and bulbs.
I need a lamp to be placed in a corner, behind a chair, so I'm concerned about the "floor switch" for the top dimmer being accessible. Can you describe how the on/off switches operate this lamp? Is the floor dimmer supposed to be operated with your foot?
Colleen V on Oct 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The floor switch is “inline” with the cord at a distance of approximately 18 inches from the base of the lamp so you might not be able to reach the switch. There’s a 1 inch elliptical foot button the one presses. Integral to the switch is a slide bar that you use to dim the lights. However, I’m using LED bulbs and the top LED bulb (different type from the other 2 LED bulbs) is not dimmable so I don’t use that function.
How high is lowest glass shade above the floor? This is to be placed behind a chair and don't want to hide the lowest part of lamp.
A shopper on Sep 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Since the shades turn to different positions, it depends some on the shade angle you choose. In a higher position, the bottom of the shade is about 44 inches above the floor.
Does it come in nickel finish?
John H on Jul 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, this collection is not offered in a brushed nickel finish.

Faulty switch
The switch for the top light quit working after we had the lamp for a week. We returned it to the store for a replacement. The second lamp lasted a month. Then, same problem. The 2 smaller lights still work, but the top one does not. I will never buy another lamp from this maker again. Don't buy it.

Pros: Looks nice, Good Size, Easy Assembly

Cons: Faulty Switch

Best Uses: Reading, Dark Corners

Fuse blown.
The top bulb burned out and I replaced it with a good bulb but it would not work. I opened the foot control and found a blown fuse that was soldered in place. I am in the process of getting a fuse and fuse holder to solder in place of existing fuse so next time the fuse blows I will not need a soldering iron.

Poor Quality
The lamp is sturdy and packaged well. But the top globe has a metallic streak in it that will not come off, and it does not fit well--not level. The side globes do not actually fit well either. The foot control does not work well. We will be returning it to the store. Will be looking for something made in the USA.

Pros: Sturdy

Cons: Flimsy Construction, Short Cord

Best Uses: Decoration, Reading

Lights the room and our books
We really like being able to light up the room with the top light and/or direct the lower lights onto our laps so we can read or work on our laptops. The remote control means we can adjust the lights w/o having to get up. And it looks great!

Pros: Artistic Design, Area of Illumination, REMOTE CONTROL, Attractive

Best Uses: Reading, Living Room, Dark Corners, Decoration

disappointed but still like it
The lamp in the store had on and off switches on each lamp - not so with this lamp. We were also told we could make it a touch lamp - but then that wasn't possible. It looks nice and it was too much of a hassle to return it as we live too far from the store - but next time we will make sure that the lamp we get functions in the same manner as the display lamp.

Pros: Artistic Design, Area Of Illumination

Cons: Short Cord, Limited Illumination

Best Uses: Decoration, Dark Corners, Reading

Nice until the fuse burns out,
When the top bulb went out I replaced it but it still did not light. Took apart the foot pedal and found a blown fuse that was soldered in place. Removed old fuse and soldered in its place a fuse holder so next time the fuse blows I won't need a soldering pen to replace it.

Pros: Easy Assembly, Good Size, Easy to Clean, Area of Illumination, Artistic Design, Sturdy

Atmosphere and functionality all-in-one
Works as a reading lamp for both my husband and for me, as well as illuminating our wood paneled cathedral ceiling. Having the on/off switch on a separate slider control is nice, but the downside is having all 3 bulbs on only one control, so if one is reading and one not, the only way to escape the bright light is to turn it off.

Pros: Convenient On/Off, Easy To Change Bulb, Area Of Illumination, Artistic Design, Long Cord, Easy To Clean

Cons: All bulbs on same rheosta

Best Uses: Reading, Decoration

Poor electrical design
Looks great, but does little that was advertised. Top light only flickered briefly and then nothing. Two lower were fine. There were not 2 settings, just on and off. Dimmer never worked. Tried LED and fluorescent, no luck. Customer service says bad wiring... no joke. For $300 I expected at least all 3 lights to come on. Now another half day to drag this beast back to the retail outlet.

Beautiful floor lamp!
Chic and stylish and goes well with modern or contemporary furnishings. Due to the limited wattage allowed in the reading lamps, might not be enough light at night with which to read.

Pros: Easy To Clean, Convenient On/Off, Easy To Change Bulb, Long Cord, Artistic Design

Cons: Limited Illumination

Best Uses: Decoration, Dark Corners
