how do i understand what the cri rating means?
A shopper on Oct 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi - it's a little technical, but it boils down to the ideas that the Color Rendering Index (CRI), is a measurement of the ability of a light source to reveal the true colors of objects in comparison with an ideal or natural light source.

The CRI is expressed on a scale from 0 to 100 percent. The higher the CRI, the better the color rendering ability of the light. Halogen is considered a “reference” light source and has a CRI of 100. Light sources with a low CRI may make colors appear muted or faded.
