Is this a hardback shade?

BEST ANSWER: It is a hardback shade as I recall. I replaced it with another Lamps Plus shade a while ago because the lamp needed a larger shade.
My lamp base is only 5", will this drum shade be too large? The overall lamp height is 26". The current shade is a bell but I wanted to update.

BEST ANSWER: A hardback shade has a hard lining on the inside of the shade that could be plastic, cardboard, or another hard backing material. A shade can also be lined with a soft fabric backing, which is sometimes the case for silk or satin shades. The decision to use a hard back or soft back shade mostly comes down to style preferences, and not practicality.
One of the reviewers note that that this lampshade is white (which is what I want) but it is listed as 'off white'. Please clarify as the shape and dimensions are perfect! This is a statement but in order to send it, it needs a ?

BEST ANSWER: I would call it warm white, not ice (blue) white. I like them as warm is more appropriate for my room. Light bulbs make a difference too.

Beautiful shade but...
We really loved the look of this shade and the pattern it makes when lit. We've had it for under 6 months and the ribbon edging has started to bubble and looks cheap. I've owned similar lampshades and never had this issue. Makes me wish we'd kept the uglier one that came with the lamp that we replaced with this one. Grrr.

Very nice lamp shade
Perfect fit and look for our lamp. It would be nice if the metal was gold to match the harp instead of chrome.

Brocade trip drum shade
I ordered this for a client. She wanted a bright white lampshade with a brocade trim. This shade was a perfect choice for her.

Perfect for our bedroom...
We were apprehensive to purchase these shades because of some of the reviews regarding the ribbon around the top and bottom. I addressed this with the associate in the actual store (we were actually ordering on line). She said to use only LED light bulbs as any others would be too hot and effect the shades/ribbons.

Absolutely Perfect!
I purchased a lamp from Ebay that was retro 60's and knew I needed a specific type lamp shade to make it look perfect. I knew that Lamps Plus would have just what I needed and they did at no higher cost than your big box stores (i.e. Walmart) and the quality was much better.

A lovely, unique shade!
I would say this is more of an off-white than a pure white. That said, it is lovely with the bands at the top and bottom - gives it a little something special.
