Brighten up your home's exterior with this handsome outdoor wall light from the Arrington collection by John Timberland. This updated industrial design comes in a tapering black frame with a sleek, straight-lined look. Clear glass panels offer a full view of its beautiful vintage Edison style bulb. Use the motion sensor functionality with a dual brightness feature for security and efficient lighting. Dual-bright design means the light turns on at 25% brightness and goes to 100% when motion is detected. Two minutes after motion is no longer detected, the light will revert to low-level brightness.

  • 14 3/4" high x 8" wide. Extends 8 3/4" from the wall. Backplate is 5 3/4" high x 4 1/2" wide x 3/4" deep. Mounting point to bottom of light is 11 1/2" high.
  • Uses one maximum 60 watt dimmable standard-medium (E26) base type A bulb (incandescent or LED). Bulb not included.
  • Single-light outdoor motion sensor wall light from the Arrington collection by John Timberland®.
  • Black finish over steel construction. Clear glass panels.
  • Turns on at dusk to 25% brightness, then goes to full bright when motion is detected.

I want to put this at the back of the house and I only need the light on when someone is walking by. I don't need it on at 50% brightness all the time. Would this light work for my use scenario?

BEST ANSWER: This wall light would look great. It stays on at 25% brightness after dusk and turns on at 100% brightness when motion is detected. That is the only setting.
Does the dusk to dawn feature have different settings for how long it will keep the light on? We would like the light to stay on for a few hours, but not all night.

BEST ANSWER: As far as the dusk to dawn feature for this light, you cannot modify how long it is on when it is dark outside.
If we decide we just want motion (and not the 50% brightness from dusk to dawn), is it possible to turn off the dusk to dawn so the light only comes on with motion at night?

BEST ANSWER: Per the manufacturers instructions, the dual light brightness nor the photocell cannot be turned off. The photocell feature keeps the light off during daylight hours.

BEST ANSWER: You can temporary disable the motion sensor for this outdoor wall light using the Manual Override Mode (flip the wall switch off and back on within 3 seconds). Using this mode, the light will stay on for approximately 8 hours or until the dusk-to-dawn sensor detects light in the morning. Once the dusk-to-dawn sensor detects light for more than 60 seconds, the Manual Override Mode will automatically revert back to the Auto Motion Sensing Mode.

Always On
The light stays on all day, apparently because the area is shaded by trees. The shade is by no means deep, and our other light sensitive switches have no problem, but this one is foolish. Unless it is directly in the sun, it will go on. The manufactures advice is to move it elsewhere, as if we are discussing some battery operated lamp.

Perfect Style and Function....But...
We love the style and especially the DualBrite motion detection feature. Acceptable quality for the price. But, we have tried numerous LED bulbs and none function properly. Some will not work on the low light mode, others flicker badly on the bright mode. Incandescent bulbs work but 1) incandescent edison style bulbs are hard to find; 2) the available bulbs are not the correct color temperature; and 3) the long term cost in electricity and bulb replacement is dissapointing especially when the product description says that LEDs work in these fixtures. The Globe Electric is the bulb we are going with, but the color temp is on the warm side when we prefer cooler/daylight for outdoors, another dissapointment.

Honest review
Lamp was delivered quickly and there was no obvious damage to the lamp or the glass panes. It was pretty simple for my husband to install. The motion sensor feature works well. It was off in the daytime and promptly turned on at night. When motion is sensed, the light gets brighter. A+ for looks. The one concern I have which I took one star off for is that it seems a little flimsy. There is movement in the lamp around the area that the lamp connects to the motion sensor. I’m not sure if its supposed to be this way or if we unknowingly received a defective one. I’m concerned about what will happen when we get a thunderstorm with wind. Hope there is a warranty.

Do not recommend - Many issues
I would not recommend these lights. I spent a long time looking for new lights for the front of our house. I decided on these because I liked the style, the motion sensor feature, and the fit our mounts. We have had them for a little over six months and I regret my purchase due to the issues that we have had. It should be noted that the motion sensor is not adjustable and it is activated every time a car goes by our house. One of our four lights stopped working only a month or two into having it. Lamps plus has since sent us a new one that we have yet to install due to winter weather. On top of these issues, the lights are not even functional due to the fact that they constantly flicker like a strobe light. We have replaced the bulbs several times and this is an ongoing issue. I wish that I could get my money back for these lights and purchase different ones.
