BEST ANSWER: Hi - this is a hardwired fixture. It is operated by a wall switch, and does not have an on-off switch on the fixture body.
Can the glass shade be removed easily?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is a small ring that is threaded to keep the glass on. All you have to do is unscrew that and the glass comes off.

Beautiful - great quality and value!
I have 6 of these fixtures installed in my wine cellar and they are fantastic! They have been there for about 2 years an there is no “sagging under its own weight” for any of the six. (They are installed on wooden columns). Beautiful fixtures! (And I am so thankful they’re still available...I am ordering replacement glass for a globe which was recently broken)

Poor design - sagging under its own weight
Backplate is too thin to rigidly hold the arm (with the weight of the glass) at 90 deg angle; as a result the entire contraption attached to the backplate sags some 10-15 degrees towards the wall. Depending on the viewing angle it can be very noticeable and gives it a fake/cheap look.
