What colors is the lamp? It says bronze but it looks black and someone said it is brown.

BEST ANSWER: Hi - this is designed for direct wire and we do not offer any conversion kits to change it into a swag lamp. But, you may check with a qualified electrician for your conversion options.
Does some light come out of the top of the fixture through the openings?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, some light does come out of the top through the openings, but not much. The specific bulb you use probably determines how much light comes out the top. I use a 100 watt equivalent LED bulb, and very little light escapes that way.
Does this have a lens cover or open from the underside. I think I prefer without so if it has one can you leave it off?

BEST ANSWER: Hi - this design uses one maximum 100 watt standard base bulb. That's a fair amount of light, so as long as the homework area isn't located too far away from the pendant, it should work well for you.

Beautiful farmhouse style pendants!
Love these pendants! Bought 2 and they look beautiful over my island in my newly remodeled farmhouse kitchen. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the description says, "bronse," but they actually look black.

Great looking lamp, nicely made, great price.
This is a very nice lamp! The enamel white on the inside is a great touch that helps diffuse the light. And the style itself was the perfect balance of an informal yet polished look that I wanted above my dining room table. This is a great lamp, especially for the price. Thanks again, Lamps Plus!

Just what I wanted...
The light fits in very nicely in my remodeled kitchen/dining room. I especially like the light from the recommended bulb that I also purchased as well as the simplicity of the overall design. I was thinking that the shade itself would be black but is actually a very dark brown. I can live with that.
