Would this work as a replacement for my California fluorescent light box? Would it be too SMALL for a 3'x3' recessed box?

BEST ANSWER: Hi Karen - if you have a 3 foot x 3 foot recess box, this fixture only has a round canopy size of 5 1/4" wide to cover a standard size junction box. You may want to check with a local electrician on your mounting/installation options of a new fixture.

BEST ANSWER: It is a beautiful pendant for over an island. The socket is a medium based socket rated for 100 watts. You can also use an LED replacement bulb for added brightness. However, if this is the only main lighting for the entire kitchen, it may not sufficient. As a directed work space fixture it is perfect. BEST ANSWER: IThe pendant does not have a lens cover over the bottom but they are beautiful fixtures. I have a pair of them over a dining table and the bulbs are not distracting.

Very Happy With This Light!
I love the industrial but beautiful look of this light. It is good quality and looks great over my small rustic wood dining table--perfect size. It also ties in with my stainless steel kitchen appliances. It arrived very quickly too. I am very happy with it!

Wow!!
When I saw this online, I was taken by the color, as I had never seen a "dyed" nickel. When I received it, I opened the box a little just to confirm I had been sent the correct item, but I also noticed that it looked like regular nickel. I was somewhat disappointed but thought "oh well, it;'s still a nice piece." But when I took it all the way out, it was the dark color I was hoping for and very polished!! Why it looked "silver" in the box, I blame on the lighting in the room. Bottom line, it looks just like its displayed and it is BEAUTIFUL!!

This Lamp is as beautiful in reality as it is online. I have never seen nickel that dark and shiny, and I thought that was hot. I bought 2 to go in my kitchen during my upgrade.

Very Pleased
I was looking to replace the semi-flush mount fixture that formerly occupied the space. Since this is a downward facing light, I did lose some of the broader lighting coverage. It is a brushed nickel finish that is not flat but also not very shiny (like a chrome). Dimmable "Edison type" bulb is used.
