BEST ANSWER: The light is not open on the bottom. You would unscrew the fixture to change the bulb.
Can a led bulb be used in this fixture?

BEST ANSWER: Yes! I used a clear vintage style LED by GE and it is both bright and gorgeous. Bought the bulb at Lowe’s. Important to look for LED clear light because the standard vintage lights are not bright and only work as ambiance.
Does this light give out a lot of light? What style bulb? Vintage bulbs do not give off enough light for me. It will be the only light source. I need a bright light for my kitchen.

BEST ANSWER: We used this light in bathroom which is all white "(floor tile and cabinets), so more than bright enough. don't think i would use this as sole light in kitchen). Vintage bulbs give off a nice warm glow which worked well for us in the bathroom. The bathroom also had two light bars (with 3 vintage bulbs) above the mirrors- so we have lots of light!
