BEST ANSWER: While the bottom part of the base is dark brown, the base of the lamp is a distressed metallic color somewhere between silver and bronze. It's very neutral but attractive, interesting.

Love my lamp and happy with the service
I love the lamp it fit perfectly in the quest bedroom. Looks 100% better than the one I had which was to big for the stand. The color and size was just right and I am very happy with it. I really appreciate the help I received from the store personal. When there are so many to choose from its nice to have someone help you. People were very helpful but not pushy, thats why I like going there.

Great style and function
I bought these for my guest bedroom for small nightstands and they are perfect. They are neutral in color, a distressed metallic with a nice white shade, which shed a fair amount of light when turned on. Perfect size and style for my use. Interesting texture on the base finish.
