BEST ANSWER: You will get some slight reflection off the glass that will be cast onto a wall, but the lamp needs to be fairly close to the wall for this to happen.

BEST ANSWER: Hi - no, the base does not light up. The bulb is beneath the shade and there is no night light in the base. In the base you will see reflections from the bulb, but there is no built-in light.

Perfect desk lamp, takes up little space
i bought this lamp for my desk since I would be working from home to replace the ball version of this style lamp. The ball is beautiful but the bulb I bought was too bright and gave me a headache so I needed a lamp with a shade. I stumbled upon this lamp as I was purchasing the larger version. This lamp is shorter, thinner and the shade is long and thin which makes it the PERFECT desk lamp. It doesn’t seem to be made as well as the larger ones but still is a striking focal point of my desk. Still good quality and beautiful. The switch is one you push from one side then push it back from the other. Not sure as to the proper name of it.

Glam lamp!
Nice lamp; looks mostly like pic. The base is shiny silver not chrome. The lamp shade was poor quality; it did not fit in the lamp properly. I bought new shades and I am happy with my purchase now!
