BEST ANSWER: The bulb can go lower, just not more than the maximum 60 watt.

BEST ANSWER: This lamp uses a G9 base halogen bulb, not a standard base bulb. However, you can use a xenon bulb or an energy-saving LED bulb with G9 bases if you prefer.
Is the g9 halogen bulb just a regular bulb?

Nice pair of nightstand lights
I like the [...] touch light. It's great not to have to reach under to feel for the switch. And it's a nice design that looks good in our room.

The touch lamp we've been looking for...
We'd been looking for a suitable touch lamp for some time, and this one fits the bill just fine. It's simple design really is compatible with most decor, and the touch base is such a big help.

Great depending on what you wanted
This lamp is beautful. I needed a lamp that was no taller than 19 inches and this one is perfect. I gave it a three instead of 5 only because it doesnt give off much light. It isn't much more than a nightlight. It has a nice soft glow if all you need is a dim light in a corner or area so you can see where you are going during the night. If you use it on a end table in your living room, you will need some other light source for the room.

Love this lamp
I am INCREDIBLY happy with this lamp and am, in fact, considering buying a second. The touch on/off is so nice for on the bedside table. Maybe I'm extra lazy, but I love being able to lay in bed, read a book, and when I'm tired, just tap the bottom of the lamp to turn it off -- not reach up to turn a switch. The brightness and color of the little bulb are great too. Really, really happy with this addition to my bedroom.
