It’s your personal choice where to use it. But if you have high humidity and mold accumulating in areas that are not cleaned often, it may be hard to clean and could become rusty.
Does this light throw off color or distracting reflection on wall or ceiling? Thinking of it for a small 5x6 dressing room. Thx.

Can someone explain how to attach the crystals? The instructions in the box say "hand up crystals" but they do not say how to actually attach them. Thanks!

When assembled, this is a very beautiful light, but beware of the work involved. You will need to install all of the crystal strands by hand. It took about 45 minutes for my wife and I to do this. Also, I had to cut off two screws in the mounting plate that were too long - they didn't allow the light to sit flush against the ceiling. Also, you should know about the light bulbs that will work. It has standard E26 medium base sockets, but the recommended bulbs are 40W type G, which are unusual and wouldn't provide much light. I wanted to use CFLs and have a bright diffused light in the room, however, the overall length of the bulbs you use should not be more than 4.0" (Type G are 3.5"). This rules out many CFLs on the market. At [...] I found a pack of 4 Philips 18W Mini Twister CFLs (Ordering code EL/mdT2 18W 6/4) that fit nicely and wouldn't pose a fire risk. It's now installed, looks great, and gives good light - hooray.

This light was hung in my daughter's room. We had a professional mount it- but did not realize in the process that none of the crystals come attached. Which meant a very long, tedious process of affixing each crystal string. READ THE DIRECTIONS! We did not, and because of that, attached them wrong the first time and a few of the wire connectors broke when we tried to redo them correctly. The light looks gorgeous, but had I known the time involved in actually getting it up and ready, I may have reconsidered.
I put this in my guest bathroom to add a little bling, and it looks beautiful. It's true that you have to put each string of crystals on yourself, but it's not that difficult. I love it and am glad I chose it.
