i need to light up a 7 foot island that includes a sink and eating area, Do these type of lights diffuse the light or is it just directly down? If so how many would I need or would I be better off with another type of lighting?

BEST ANSWER: The design of the pendant will provide more of a diffuse type of light. There are various general guidelines to decide how many pendants you should install (equally spaced) over a certain size kitchen island. There are also various factors that can be considered when choosing how many to install: dimensions of the island, ceiling height, the pendants size and light output, individual opinion/design, other lights in room. Generally, small islands (4 to 5 feet long) can handle 1 large or 2 medium/small pendants. Large islands (6 feet or more) can handle 2 large or 3 medium/small size pendants. It can also be based on individual preference if you like the scale of them oversized or smaller. It state this is "chrome" is a shiney chrome or brushed?

I have a tight space in powder room and am considering these to flank mirror above sink. Are they dimmable? Can they be put on the same dimmable switch?
