Does this light get hot to touch?

BEST ANSWER: I currently use LED lightbulbs so they do not get hot. I recommend the same thing.
Will that be suitable for Australian 240 volt power?

Can I use an LED BR30 Bulb instead of a BR20?

Can the base be screwed into a wood ceiling beam?

BEST ANSWER: The light can be mounted on the beam but might require small modifications to screw it down.
Is the recommended 60-watt R20 an incandescent or a Halogen bulb? I do not use Halogen bulbs for safety
reasons, so is there an incandescent or, better yet, an LED bulb that works with this? Thank you!

BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry, the bulb you are referring to will be too wide for this fixture. An R20 bulb (which is the largest size this fixture can take) is 20 eights of an inch which is equivalent to 2.5 inches in width. The bulb you are referring to is 4.8 inches in width.
Can the light point straight up?

BEST ANSWER: Yes the easy tilt design to adjust the light aim will allow you to use this item pointed straight up.
Does this lamp get hot to the touch? Often spotlights put off a great deal of heat.

BEST ANSWER: As a former Lamps Plus employee I'm probably a good one to ask. Weather this gets hot or not all depends on the wattage of the bulb used. I have several of these and never use anything higher than a 35 watt halogen bulb. The can barely gets warm. This type of bulb and it's wattage is perfect for lighting indoor trees, artwork and sculpture. Anything higher isn't necessary and just a little too bright. Never go over the recommended wattage listed on the fixture. If you were to use a 100 watt incandescent in this it would probably get too hot and you'll know that when you smell paint burning. Unplug it immediately and don't dare touch it! It's a very nice little fixture and I'm very happy with those that I have.

Nice product - especially for price
This is an excellent uplight. I have it hidden behind a room divider/screen and it is an excellent mood enhancer to the room. I plugged this into one of the remote outlets I have so I never have to move the screen or bend over to turn this light on. It is inexpensive, but excellent quality. Who cares how it looks- I have it hidden. Perfect choice for behind a plant, screen, or chair.
