Conservative & elegant modern design, just busy enough with structural detail to make it interesting. With the double shade and the diffuser plate, there is no glare. And the fixture throws light onto the ceiling too- very nice. If you like the online pic, I think you will be very pleased. Well-made with a somewhat heavy base, so best to have it supported as you fiddle with installation- otherwise straightforward. Two quibbles: 1) the ceramic sockets turn inside the metal cups of the fixture when you unscrew the bulbs- you need to jam a screwdriver in to stop this, and 2) the seam on the outer shade is kind of wide and obvious, but the good news is that this can be oriented in any direction in order to minimize visibility. Overall I really like this light and will keep it. Its not small, so it might look out of proportion in a very small space. Expensive, but its a very nice design w/ good quality overall.
