needed something to replace the strip florescent lights in the kid's rumpus room. making over the playroom into a teen hangout spot. we'll see. was hoping for the fixture in black, rather than bronze, but this will do.

what is the distance from the ceiling to to the top of the canopy? I need the canopy to clear 5 inches from the ceiling...

BEST ANSWER: Per the manufacturer specs, with the overall height of the fixture being 12" and the shade height being 5.50", from the ceiling to the top of the shade is 6.5". The canopy (round ceiling plate) dimensions are 5.25" width and 1.25" in height.
What watt light bulbs can you use in this fixture?

BEST ANSWER: This light fixture can take up to three 100 watt medium base bulbs. Unless you have a dimmer, this was too much light for me and I reduced wattage to three 60 watt bulbs. I changed this light fixture out three months after I purchased it. It did not work in my breakfast nook and cast an unusual shadow on the ceiling because there is no top cover to this fixture, as is the case with most semi-flush fixtures. It was the second time I changed out the nook light fixture, so I guess I’m a bit selective. There are many beautiful light fixtures to pick from, so take your time and consider the space where you’re putting it! Good luck!

Don’t hesitate to buy!
This is a beautiful ceiling light. Very easy installation: 1 person less than an hour. 3-60 watt bulbs is overkill for my small room. Even at the lowest dimming level it is bright. Will probably switch to 40 watt bulbs. But truly beautiful. Highly recommend.

I don't recommend
I purchased this light because it allowed up to 100 watt bulbs. I don't recommend it because it takes 3 hands to replace the glass plate and components. Very frustrating.
