I purchased two of these: I mounted one of them between two garage doors, and the other near our front door (located in a recessed entry area). I connected each light to an independent motion sensor. The lights are on a three-way circuit with a switch inside the house near the front door and another inside the garage near the connecting door to the house. If you turn on either of the switches, both lights go on -- whether you want them to or not. Wiring them to separate motion sensors means that, now, each light operates indepentdently and only when triggered by motion in its general area -- and we never touch the switches. So, at night, as soon as I open the front door, the "porch" light goes on automatically, providing illumination for the entry area. When we return home in an auto (again, only at night) the light between the garage doors goes on providing sufficient illumination to safely drive into the garage with damagaing side-mirrors, etc.

Although these lights are listed as "Mission/Arts and Crafts" in style, we have a contemporary style home with a stucco exterior. Yet, as far as appearance and style is concerned, these lights are perfect. We think they're absolutely beautiful -- yet, very reasonably priced.

We are using the large size outside on our Craftsman style home. The small ones are being used inside as sconces, light pointing upward in lodge type great room with vaulted ceiling and large Douglas fir scissors trusses.

2 are installed on either side of the garage door and 1 is a porch light. They all look really fantastic and the light shed is incredible! We are actually going to put in lower watt bulbs because it is so bright.

I wish there were more contrast between the stone and copper finish, not quite as colorful as expected but more serene but modern, sleek and clean looking. For a front entrance you should go up a size, the dimensions reference the slate and not the lighted region

I have it on a covered front porch, and I really love it. I had looked at a lot of lights before seeing this one and I couldn't be happier with it. I am using a lower watt bulb than expected and the glass nicely hides the spiral shape. Someone else installed it and it is protected from the elements so I can't comment on ease of installation or weather resistance but it appears to be very well made and durable.

Bought one for our porch in St. John USVI because we thought the stone made it look very natural in that setting. It also solved a major problem of corrosion. The weather is very harsh and all other products rusted or corroded. This was especially true for the bulbs. This product was perfect and plan to buy 4 more.

Very nice lights. We have a pair at our front entrance and a pair on our deck and they provide plenty of light. They also look great. We have a stone wainscoat around the house, and this stone backed outdoor light matches quite well.
One caution: If you are going to mount these on siding, be aware that the backing may be longer than the height of your siding. However, the opening for the electrical on the back of the lamp should be small enough to not overlap the edge of your siding.

Clean and simple. Well crafted. Manufacturer should have included some rubberized pieces to lock out elements. With some caulk worked well for us as it was installed in a protected area. Love the quality, look and design.

I bought 2 of these lights and my husband, who is a general contractor, installed them in our new patio cover on 2 of the four posts. They far exceeded our expectations, so I just ordered 2 more for the other 2 posts. I installed 40 watt bulbs and they really give off a lovely warm glow with the diffused shades. They manage to look rustic and modern at the same time. They are very well made and I expect that they will last for many years.

I bought 2 of these fixtures, for kitchen door and front door. The multi-colored slate looks really nice with the copper or copper-colored metal. They look great against my brown exterior. They seem well constructed. 2 things I don't like: lack of quality control, glue holding metal molding at bottom is smeared on glass; and, a bit worse is that on both fixtures the light fixture does not hang parallel to wall but juts out from wall. Not noticeable if you are looking head-on but quite obvious if looking from the side. Too bad.

Ordered a pair for the yard; the slate backs are different colors, one more green, the other more brick--and they look charming. Easy to hang. Very well packaged. Another good buy from Lamps Plus!

We bought 2 several years ago and we like them so much we just ordered 2 more. The only issue we had is that the bottom rim on the glass shade have fallen off both of them.

Very attractive light. Pretty heavy because it is a piece of slate, so it was a little unnerving attaching it to the wall (and a challenge to hold up for a long time while installing), but it looks so awesome. Kind of contemporary and natural at the same time. Really unique.

We were replacing our old lights and they were installed with a different style back plate which meant we had to change the hole they went into...one was round and the other square.
