Inspired by current interior design trends and styles, the collection of Katja designed art shades from Lamps Plus offers beautiful new pattern and fresh color for your home. Each shade pattern is based on an exclusive design by Katja Hockenberg. Katja designed lamps and lighting for us for over twenty years, then became our expert pattern designer. The patterns are giclee printed on a canvas material and then made-to-order, hand-assembled onto a shade by artisans working in our California workshops. They are available on a wide range of product, from shades and table lamps to drum chandeliers.

What pattern styles are available?

Each of the patterns in the collection reflects current interior design trends and styles. They are all based on original paintings, water color works, photography, or computer graphics from Katja herself. A lover of the great outdoors, she finds inspiration in nature and natural patterns, as well as organic forms. The latest color trends and color of the year hues are also represented.

How often are new patterns introduced?

How are the shades created?

Each shade is made-to-order by artisans in the US, based in our California workshops. The shade pattern is giclee printed using specialized printers onto a high-quality, archival canvas material. They are they applied to a blank shade form in a custom process, then shipped directly to you.
