disappointed
I had such high hopes for these lamps. Wanted a rustic option to my Luxo Architectural desk lamps. Also I wanted a less costly alternative. Well, you get what you pay for! One of the lamps never seated correctly in the base. But the worst feature is that the tightening screw mechanism to keep the lamps adjusted to your preferred angle JUST DOESN'T HOLD THE ANGLE. THE LAMPS KEEP DROOPING DOWNWARD. Since they are now not in the lower 48 it was just not practical to return them. I have lived with them now for 2 summers and they drive me nuts.
Pros: Good Size, Area of Illumination, Easy to Clean
Cons: Flimsy Construction

It's OK
The concept of this lamp is great, but it just doesn't stay put once you tighten the screws. If it weren't because I really need it NOW, I would return it.

Maybe a Solution
I have been having the same problem others mentioned of the lamp not holding its position. I just removed the washer from the joint between the 2 arms & it seems to be holding better.

Great Lamp. Just as described.
Great lamp. Look everywhere for one like this one. For a desk, like most lamps, could use a longer cord. Great for reading or paperwork, even with no other lights on. Would purchase again.
Pros: Area of Illumination, Well Built, Easy to Clean, Good Size
Cons: Short Cord
Best Uses: Office, Reading

Does't Stay Put
When trying to swing the shade the whole base moves base connection is very stiff. Have to hold one hand on the base while using the other to move the shade. Not worth the money would not suggest purchasing.
