Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Celebrates Dedication of Eight Home Housing Project Featuring Lighting Fixtures from Lamps Plus
Lamps Plus is proud to continue to assist Habitat for Humanity in their ongoing efforts to address housing inequality in the Greater Los Angeles area
LOS ANGELES – January 20th, 2024 – Lamps Plus, the nation’s largest lighting retailer, is honored to have partnered once again with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles on a newly completed affordable housing development. Construction of Isabel Villas began on June 24th, 2022, with the last wall being raised on June 14th, 2023. Isabel Villas is named after Isabel Lee, the Chief of Staff of Habitat LA, in honor of her 20th anniversary with the organization. Lamps Plus donated new lighting fixtures for the eight homes in this development, which were installed in bathrooms, outdoor spaces, and living spaces.
A dedication of the new homes was celebrated on January 20th, 2024, where keys were officially handed over to the new homeowners and homebuyers of these eight homes. Jan Karl, the Board Chair of Habitat LA, Erin Rank, the President and CEO of Habitat LA, Isabel Lee, the Chief of Staff of Habitat LA, and Marc Henderson the Market Director for Southern California for Thrivent, each spoke spoke at the dedication.
The eight homes were completed in the Willowbrook neighborhood of South Los Angeles, located east of the 110 and south of the 105 freeways, on property provided by Los Angeles County. Development utilized funds and in-kind products and services from donors to construction each home. The beautiful Isabel Villas development features eight single-story detached homes, each with a private yard and attached garage. Lamps Plus lighting fixtures were integrated into the construction to ensure each family could enjoy the benefits of proper lighting in their home. Lamps Plus is grateful for the opportunity to help these families’ dreams of home-ownership come true.
