Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has since become the world’s largest not-for-profit builder in the world, having helped more than 29 million people construct, rehabilitate, or preserve their homes. By utilizing a large team of dedicated volunteers, including owners of Habitat for Humanity affordable homes, they are able to keep costs down and pursue their mission of providing affordable, low-income housing. Since 1990, the Greater Los Angeles affiliate of Habitat for Humanity has rebuilt, rehabilitated, or repaired over 1,000 houses in neighborhood all over Los Angeles, and Lamps Plus is honored to a part of their mission. Shelter is a basic human right, and proper lighting is essential to making a home feel comfortable.

The Isabel Villas development is site of eight new homes in the Willowbrook neighborhood of Los Angeles, located east of the 110 and south of the 105 freeways. Each one-story, detached house comes with a private yard, attached 2-car garage, drought tolerant landscape, energy efficient lighting from Lamps Plus, and solar systems. The property for this project was provided to Habitat LA by Los Angeles County, and funding and services needed to build the homes are being provided by Habitat LA donors. Construction of the Isabel Villas homes began in November of 2021 and is scheduled to complete in December of 2023. During construction, Habitat LA’s partner homebuyers will work side-by-side with hundreds of community volunteers to build their new homes. Lamps Plus lighting fixtures were integrated into the construction to ensure each family could enjoy the benefits of proper lighting in their home. Lamps Plus is grateful for the opportunity to help these families’ dreams of home-ownership come true.
