Lamps Plus Partners with VISION Show House Mariposa Meadows
The Mariposa Meadows Show House features energy efficient indoor and outdoor LED lighting provided by the nation’s largest lighting retailer.
LOS ANGELES – February 3rd, 2023 – Lamps Plus, the nation’s largest lighting retailer, partnered with VISION House Mariposa Meadows, located in Gunnison National Forest, Colorado, to provide energy efficient indoor and outdoor LED lighting. The three homes in Mariposa Meadows was built 13 miles from the nearest power cable and strives for a net zero, environmentally conscious build. Every product was specifically selected to reduce energy consumption and function easily with the installed solar panels and batteries. Lamps Plus is proud to be involved with this project and showcase the continued evolution of LED lighting.
As LED lighting continues to evolve, it becomes more affordable and longer lasting than other forms of lighting. “Not only are LEDs getting more efficient and affordable, they’re also forcing a revolution in form and design. The small size of LED circuitry means that lamps and fixtures no longer have to be built around the bulb. They can be long and thin in profile or present free-flowing abstract shapes,” said John Barnes, Senior Content Manager for Lamps Plus. “The scope of the Mariposa Meadows project and the ambitious master plan for a carbon neutral project were highly attractive and exciting elements. Also, for Lamps Plus, our involvement was a chance to learn and see how our lighting would perform in the off-the-grid, self-sufficient design of the property.”
LED lights are more than just functional, however, and were used in Mariposa Meadows to bring an added element of style. Lamps Plus assisted in providing fixtures and lights that would complement the modern mountain style of the new homes. Eliminating light pollution was also a concern in selecting fixtures that would illuminate the space without overshadowing the natural outdoor beauty of the national forest. Lamps Plus supplied nearly LED 100 items for the show homes; including light bars, table and floor lamps, ceiling lights, wall sconces, outdoor lighting, and more.
