Outdoor wall lights are generally a necessity for most homes and urban terraces, but making sure they are stylish as well as functional is where we come in handy.
I have been inspired by the tremendous affect outdoor lighting can make to the facade of buildings and garden walls.
For the most part, even traditional looking wall lights can look contemporary given the overall aesthetic of a space.
Industrial style outdoor wall lights are based on inspiration from the past. This old style is now considered a new, fresh look and, as you can see, look modern when installed on walls and fencing.
They are practical as the cage detail is not only stylish but protects the bulbs from flying objects like balls, Frisbees and most other summer related sports equipment.
Bronze finish outdoor wall lights were the no-nonsense lighting of choice over garage and barn doors way back when.
This lighting style has made a comeback and is a staple for the modern barn look. Its nostalgic design is perfect for casual, country settings.
If your home is truly a contemporist opt for lighting with clean lines. Simple geometric lighting looks wonderful and sculptural not to mention functional along walkways and steps.
Here are 4 of my favorite outdoor wall light styles:
1. Galvanized or brushed steel barn lights are a little bit country with a touch of hipster chic.
2. If you are going for a coastal look, look for wall lights with some nautical flair, like this wall light with a contemporary take on the cage light in a chrome finish.
3. and 4. Look for simple and sleek wall lights like these two to complement modern architecture.

I am a big fan of the galvanized outdoor lights. I think they have a very classic and vintage look. Just having them up would make me feel like I had gone back in time.
I really love these old school vintage lights. I would love to get lights like this on the outside of my barn. I have a feeling that they would bring a really fun uniqueness to my barn. I appreciate the information.
